The Secret of the Mind & Spiritual Vision After Death

The Secret of the Mind & Spiritual Vision After Death

1. Does the intellect still function when the soul is separated from the body?

According to the Laduni Al-Kautsar perspective, the soul (ruh) is the true center of consciousness, while the brain is merely a translator for life in this world. When death occurs, the soul departs from the body, yet the spiritual intellect (‘aql ruhani) remains alive — capable of thinking, remembering, understanding, and feeling.

Islamic Evidence:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke to the corpses of the Quraysh disbelievers after the Battle of Badr:

> “By Allah, you do not hear better than they do (the dead), but they cannot respond.”

(Narrated by Bukhari & Muslim)

This proves that spiritual hearing continues to function even though the physical body is silent.

2. Can the soul still see the family left behind?

The majority of scholars state that the soul, by Allah’s permission, can know and witness the state of their living family members at certain times.

Prophetic Tradition:

> “Indeed, your deeds will be shown to your deceased relatives. If they are good, they rejoice. If they are bad, they say: ‘O Allah, do not let them die until You guide them.’”

(Narrated by Ahmad, Tirmidhi, and Tabarani)

In Laduni wisdom, this indicates that the inner connection between the living family and the departed soul remains, maintained through the waves of prayer, deeds, and the memory of faith.

Conclusion

The soul retains intellect, awareness, and feelings after death.

The soul can hear, see, and know the condition of its family in the world at times set by Allah.

Good deeds of descendants are like gifts of light to the soul in the Barzakh realm.

Prayer is the golden bridge connecting this world and the afterlife.
