The unseen Harm: How we unknowingly Abuse Ourselves.

Self-abuse is often associated with visible scars, but we often overlook the subtle ways we harm ourselves daily. We may not realize it, but our thoughts, beliefs, and actions can be instruments of self-abuse, perpetuating a cycle of negativity and self-doubt.

 

Critical inner voices, perfectionism, and unrealistic expectations can lead to emotional distress and self-criticism. We may push ourselves beyond limits, neglecting self-care and ignoring our needs. Even seemingly harmless habits like excessive screen time, poor eating, or lack of exercise can be forms of self-abuse, draining our mental and physical well-being.

 

Other ways we Abuse ourselves unknown to us includes: late to appointment or meeting, going late for lectures, going late for church services and going to work late.

 

Moreover, we may compare ourselves unfavorably to others, fostering feelings of inadequacy and low self-esteem. By acknowledging these patterns, we can begin to break free from the cycle of self-abuse. Practicing self-compassion, setting realistic goals, and prioritizing self-care can help us cultivate a more loving and supportive relationship with ourselves. Let us recognize the subtle ways we abuse ourselves and embrace a journey of self-love, acceptance, and healing.
