Vote, Don't Vote

For 24 years of the life that I have previously lived on this earth, it's hard to remember when I didn't hate or, how do I put this, dislike politics.

I like the occasional argument with my friends, but I walk away or just shut up whenever things get intense. That is my trend.

Voting as it may be has never been an issue; my mother has struggled to raise us, and she does rise early to go to the polling station to cast her vote.

She is patriotic, I can say, but after every vote she does cast, whenever she comes home, life remains to be the same. She has to pay fees, pay rent, buy us food and clothe us, all the while struggling. All she hopes for is my two brothers and me to change someday her life, not the men and women she voted for!

It is sad. Watching her, I have learned that voting or no voting life continues to suck, and, get this, there is a lot and yet nothing we can do to change that except maybe continue suffering as the common mwanainchi.
