Born in Chains*
The wind blew over the burnt land. Smoke filled the air. Villages that were once full of life were now silent. The soldiers had taken everything — land, homes, and people.
That was when *Kaleem* was born.
His mother, *Baiwa*, was taken during the war. She became a slave, but she never gave up. She raised Kaleem with stories about freedom — stories from a time before the war. She sang to him softly, with hope in her voice.
Kaleem never knew his father. Some said he died fighting. Others said he was a spirit watching over him.
But Kaleem made a promise to himself:
*"I will not die a slave."*

*Chapter One: The Whip*
The sun was hot. The slaves worked under the burning sky, pulling heavy stones. They were building a fortress for the same men who had destroyed their homes.
Guards stood around them, holding spears and whips.
*Kaleem*, now 19, worked quietly. His body was strong, but inside, he was full of anger.
“Move faster, slave!” a guard shouted.
Kaleem didn’t speak. He looked up at the man with calm, cold eyes.
