High blood sugars are common health concern which can lead to diabetes if left unchecked. If you have too much sugar in your blood (glucose), it can cause damage to your blood vessels. Over time this also damages the heart and arteries, the brain, the nervous system, the eyes and the kidneys. Blood sugar issues tend to make you gain weight, have cravings for sugary foods and make you feel fatigued and tired on a daily basis.
1. Cinnamon: Start eating fresh or powdered Ceylon cinnamon every single day. This spice contains natural compounds that help your insulin move sugar out of your blood, to get levels under control.
2. Chromium: You can take chromium picolinate as a supplement to help the sugar in your blood more sensitive, so that it can be moved into the cells easier. Chromium is a powerful trace mineral which also helps to maintain your normal body weight.
3. Low Carb: If your blood sugars are high, follow a low carb diet plan such as Keto, whilst eating lots of cruciferous vegetables. This can help to prevent prediabetes from worsening into type 2 diabetes.
4. Apple Cider Vinegar: Take 2-3 capsules or 1tbsp liquid ACV in a glass of water before each meal. This helps to normalise the Ph of your stomach, helping to prevent blood sugar spikes when you eat a meal. It helps insulin work better, in removing sugar from your blood.
5. Berberine & Turmeric: This herb and spice are two of the most powerful herbal remedies for lowering blood sugars. They reduce insulin resistance in the body, and help your pancreas to make insulin, the hormone that controls your blood sugars.
6. Intermittent Fasting: If you start to eat all of your calories for the day in a smaller window, such as within 5 hours, your body can use the remaining 19 hours to rest and digest. This gives your body a change to catch up with your metabolism, and normalise your blood sugars.
7. Exercise 1 hour before you work out, eat a protein rich meal with healthy fats such eggs, avocados, ham etc.. This alone will start to stabilise your blood sugars. Then exercise for at least 5-10 minutes per day using HIIT. This will fix the underlying hormone problem that's causing your high blood sugars. Remember that high blood sugars are extremely dangerous and will cause microvascular damage to your blood vessels and arteries if left unchecked. Cut back on any refined food that you're eating, especially flour, fruit juice and sugar. Replace these with whole foods such as berries, vegetables, fish, healthy fats etc..
