SHE likes talking to herself. It is one of HER greatest pleasure. SHE often have long conversations all by HERSELF and SHE'S so clever sometimes SHE doesn't understand a single word of what SHE is saying, but guess what, now SHE does.
SHE was given birth to into a polygamous home, HER mum is the Second Wife so SHE has a Step-Mum, Nancy. It is a common knowledge that Step-Mums are wicked. Now according to HER mum, Nancy was not an exception. SHE was told about all the unrighteous acts of Nancy, but despite that, HER mum warned "you don't have to treat her according to her actions because the unity of this home is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of it's members." What SHE'S trying to bring out is the first place of Socialization which is FAMILY. Only if our families can train us up in the way we should go, so that when we go out into the community, the light that breeds forth greatness can shine out to everyone.
The greatness of a community lies in the power of a Mother. A mother power can be the power which makes us whole and heals the rotten community, now shattered by war, poverty, racism, wickedness, religious crisis, slavery, ignorance, betrayal, but SHE believes that every act of compassion starts from the Family. SHE also have a great faith in the power of mothers who will dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to the task of remolding our community, not breathing upon their children the pain of the past but the strength, success, greatness of the future because revenge and retaliation always perpetuate the cycle of anger, fear and violence.
Currently, where SHE lives kidnapping is so rampant and people are mourning their loved ones who are victims. Just take for instance, a family where Dad was kidnapped, ransom already paid but still Dad was not released. What does Mum tell the children who are just three and seven years old? What do you expect her to impart on the children? Pain? Anger? Violence? If you use weapons of war to bring about peace, you're likely to have more war and destruction. This is what seems to be common especially here in Nigeria, people being greedy even unto the innocent and money is taken and seen as everything. Forgetting that there are souls out there crying in pain and distress searching for who to show them compassion.
Greatness in a community is never an ending process, you earn it and win it in every generation. What you don't have, you can't give it out. There are some pains that can't be ignored even with the presence of wealth. The members of a community needs role models. They need to see examples of people in peoples lives, if we should take Nelson Mandela as a World Wide example, what would you see? A man who sat in South African prison for 27 years. He was nonviolent. He negotiated his way out of jail. His honour and suffering for 27 years was really ultimately what brought about the freedom of South Africa. That is nonviolence. You don't seek revenge when revenge is not unto you to behold, leave it to the beholder. It doesn't make sense, wait and trust in Our Maker, and watch Him do more than you ever asked for. That's why it's so important not to just commemorate his life, but to study and try to live by the principle of that life. What a heart he had!
We can prevent people from becoming un-compassionate by truly listening to people who feel they've been treated unjustly and responding to their concern with a sense of harmony, justice and compassion. Now in this aspect, it starts from the Leaders who ain't just leaders by position but leaders by attitude and action. Bringing all the youths together in unity and invest in them the ethics of greatness. First of all, it starts from the mindset. Failure to invest in youths who definitely are future leaders reflect a lack of compassion and a colossal failure of common sense. Equipping the youths into something worth while doing, making sure that everybody works for his/her pay. In a country like Nigeria where SHE only can speak of due to the fact that SHE'S a citizen, would really take a long time for such actions to take place because the leaders tend to look out for themselves only, forgetting that democracy is OF the people, FOR the people and BY the people.
Going back to SHE, HER upbringing has taught HER that community is the formation of different families and until families get it right before the community can be right, then we can think about greatness. Maybe we have to quote this, "the greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of it's members," Coretta Scott King said. The greatness of a community would work today, it would work 2,000 years from now, it would work 5,000 years from now only if families sit up right in unity with a vision of healthy greatness, build/train their children with healthy morals. Most parents have gotten it all wrong, making their present family to be victims of victim, relying on the fact that; "THAT WAS HOW I WAS BROUGHT UP." The plain truth is this, if your training as a child was faulty, then the future will surely have some deep portholes. Don't inflict the pain of your past on your children who therefore are the future community. Be optimistic not pessimistic.
A little Kid who has great ideas of innovation, smart in beautiful ways but lacks a means of communication to the outside world just because mum and dad are not well to do would be neglected. He/She grows up not having visions and dreams that are exotic rather grows up and desires to be a hawker. What would you say about that? It is plain that the community doesn't care about the poor people except to exploit as cheap labour and victimize them through excessive rents and customer prices. Crumbling the zeal of weak visions and community producing gangsters. Pushed to the wall by members of a community who came out of a family.
Senhlanhla “Moment” quotes so SHE quotes too: we should soon begin to question who we are on this planet. A human or man, a form of strings finding tune. These un-compassionate actions of people wouldn't last forever though for some parents are responsible and they care. With this, people would begin to remember and would not load their worries or problems on the shoulders of their children as they would learn how big the world is. As the members of a community would identify it for the first time, Who or What our Maker is; furthermore WHO or WHAT THE SOURCE OF GREATNESS IS. The sooner we can enhance Intelligent life working together without the need for hierarchies, we can soon develop a high level of spirituality and become an independent race.
Leaders are beings too who have life and ambition, have flaws and afflictions, have faced convictions and submissions. Parents are beings with their mistakes as well, some who have lied and have not revealed the whole truth to protect their children, for it could have been noted that they too were "ignorant." But humans will grow and their Maker they would know, the source furthermore, and there will be a shift in thinking and thus in being and living.
Picking this topic and asked to write a 1,500 words essay and not including on how compassion can be gotten individually for the greatness of community would be passive and vile. If compassion have not been achieved by members of a community then it should start now. Originally, compassion is not pity, it always protects, always trusts, always preserves, never fail and OUR MAKER IS LOVE.
SHE can't help but believe that sometimes in the not-too-distant future, there is going to be another movement to change these systematic condition of un-compassion. It has begun, finding the answers following WHAT LOVE CAN DO, cosmic blueprint, a song sung for parents absence. A play of star glow, uplifting the wayward ways of the big show, living in the integrity of the soul, following the answer to what Love can do. This is SHE, always clever, understanding every single word of what SHE wrote down. OR DO YOU THINK SHE DOES NOT?
