Personally, The Legend of Korra. The thing about 'LOK' is that it takes more than once to really enjoy it. When you watch 'ATLA', you see this jovial kid with his Airbending skills jumping, going into the Avatar state like it's the easiest thing in the world. But then you watch 'LOK' with that same attitude, hoping for a jovial waterbender, a lot more of the ADHD kicking in, and stuff like that. Then, watching 'LOK', you see this very mature, mean, serious-headed individual, and the first thing that comes to mind is, "Where did the seriousness come from?" Like Aang, who woke up from a hundred-year hibernation and was told about the war, and the first thing on his mind was to ride a koi fish.
Through Season One, we see a bunch of kids on a flying bison, moving, trying to defeat and run away from Zuko and the Fire Nation, and he keeps telling people in the most dramatic way that he is the Avatar (the Kyoshi Island). Meanwhile, in 'LOK', we see, from the first episode, a girl trying to learn Airbending. We see a whole new, different side of what seems like two different coins that are not the same. Mainly, while we were expecting the same bunch of kids running in a very cool way of moving around (honestly, nothing can beat flying on a bison).
Moving to the second time around watching The Legend of Korra, it's still flawed writing on more than one front, but still cool. We see this young lady who learned three bending styles by the time she was three, was kept in isolation until she was sixteen, and comes from that background. She finds out that people who are meant to love her actually hate her, then there's Amon, who can take bending away. The part where Amon took her bending, and she was still able to airbend, was one of the highlights of the show. The bending competition with Bolin and Mako was awesome. Season Two, with Vaatu and her uncle who betrayed her trust, was heart-aching. When Korra was fighting Zaheer, with the poisoning in her body, was mind-blowing.
The Legend of Korra is pretty good, unlike in Avatar: The Last Airbender, where the team was a well-oiled machine, and in 'LOK', they looked like a family that didn't understand what was going on and the gravity of the situation they were facing. Ultimately, I think if you haven't watched Korra a second time, you should. It gives a good perspective on the show.
