Empathy sees beyond judgment; listen deeply to understand the unseen struggles of others

Between Lines

In shadows cast by silent sighs,

They watch and whisper, never wise.

With hurried hearts, they form their creed,

Blind to the thorns that others bleed.

Quick to judge from edges frayed,

Yet never in the depths have stayed.

They cast their stones, their minds so sure,

Unknowing of the battles pure.

For once within the stormy sea,

They’d grasp the pain, the silent plea.

To truly see, one must reside,

Where sorrow and the soul collide.

So listen first, with gentle grace,

To every tear and troubled face.

For answers lie in empathy,

In hearing what the heart can see.

Before you speak, before you mend,

Step closer to the hurt, my friend.

For only then, with vision clear,

You’ll know the truth that lingers near.
