JAMBI – Hj. Hesnidar Haris, SE, known as Hesti Haris, Chairwoman of the Family Welfare Empowerment Movement (TP-PKK) of Jambi Province, has been officially inaugurated as the Mother of Teachers for Jambi Province by the Chairperson of the Indonesian Teachers Association (PB PGRI), Prof. Dr. Unifah Rasyidi, M.Pd. The ceremony took place at the Auditorium of the Jambi Governor’s Official Residence on Thursday, August 7, 2025.

Alongside Hj. Hesti Haris, other "Mothers of Teachers" from various regencies and cities across Jambi Province were also inaugurated during the event.

This inauguration is a recognition of Hesti Haris's strong support for holistic, inclusive, and equitable education. Although she does not come from an educational background, she reaffirmed her dedication to applying a motherly approach in shaping the character of the younger generation.

She emphasized the importance of synergy between the education and health sectors and highlighted the strategic role of women in programs such as Bunda PAUD (Early Childhood Education Mother), PKK, and Genre (Youth Generation Planning). According to her, a compassion-based approach grounded in moral and emotional values is crucial for developing the character of Jambi’s children.

Prof. Unifah Rasyidi underlined that the title of "Mother of Teachers" is not merely symbolic, but represents a strategic role as an agent of change in education. She expressed appreciation for the Jambi Provincial Government’s commitment to making education a central pillar of regional development.

Jangcik Mohza, Assistant II of Jambi Provincial Secretariat, reported that the Human Development Index (HDI) of Jambi improved from 73.77 in 2023 to 74.36 in 2024, accompanied by increases in both average and expected years of schooling. The provincial government is also prioritizing the "PRO and CERDAS" programs as part of its 2025–2029 Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD), aimed at enhancing the quality and equity of education.

The inauguration of the "Mother of Teachers" is expected to become a collective milestone in building meaningful, humanistic, and quality education for all.
