faithIf you think your hair is healthy, you probably wouldn't be reading this. But if not, you're not alone. With the right hair care routine and the right hair products, you'll be on your way to healthier hair in no time.
The better you understand hair, the better you can maintain it. Structurally, hair strands consist of three layers : An inner fiber called the *medulla*, a middle layer called the *cortex* (where color resides) sealed within an outer shell called the *cuticle* which ideally is flat, smooth and reflective so it appears glossy when healthy. But when hair is damaged, the cuticle is raised, possibly chipped and probably fragile (looking thin). This makes hair tangle easily and lose its luster.
Hair is very much like a delicate fabric and you wouldn't wash your one and only expensive clothe in harsh detergent and bleach and then throw it into a hot dryer anyhow, would you? Of course not! So think about caring for your with these methods:
1. MASSAGE THE SCALP OF YOUR HAIR AT ANY CHANCE YOU GET
A thorough massage on a regular basis is a simple and sensual act of self - care that also promotes robust growth. It helps to release dead skin and stimulates blood flow to bring more nutrients to your roots. Just take 5 minutes of your time every morning to do that and see the out come.
2. EAT A WELL BALANCED DIET WITH PLENTY OF PROTEIN
Nutritional deficiency of protein can affect both hair growth and condition. Protein is key to hair health, which makes sense since hair consist primarily of protein and not eating enough protein can result in thinning (hair loss).
Balanced diet means a food that contains all classes of food. But the protein in the food should be much.
3. APPLYING WATER ON HAIR/DRINKING LOT OF WATER
Most of us don't know this but when we apply water on hair regularly, it helps energize and support hair growth from root to tip. It also helps prevent split ends (detangles hair)and brittle hair texture (gives shiny hair) as well as fosters a healthy scalp, meaning you'll have fewer chances of developing problems like dryness, itchiness or dandruff.
But, avoid using hard water because the minerals found in hard water can affect your scalp leading to scalp infection. That's why hair stylist uses warm water to wash your hair.
But if you think that pouring water on your hair is hard because of some of us that do make our hair using attachment or wool, drink plenty of water everyday. It does the same thing too.
4. USING RICE WATER ON YOUR HAIR
Rice water is the starchy water left over after it's cooked or left to soak. The lady with the longest hair in the world gave plenty of credit to rice water. Rice water detangles hair, makes hair smoother, increases shine, makes hair stronger and helps hair grow long.
With the few times I've used rice water, I've seen the improvement it has done to my hair.
I'll teach you how to prepare rice water next time.
5. AVOID TOO MUCH BLOW DRYING
Blow drying means the act of applying too much heat to your hair.
Blow drying hair can damage and dry hair. The dryness of the skin in the head can cause dandruff and also , hair texture can get damaged. Excessive use of blow drying may cause hair loss.
6. AVOID TOO MUCH COMBING / TIGHT HAIRSTYLES / TOO MUCH STRESS
They can cause hair loss / hair breakage thereby making you think that your hair isn't growing.
7. AVOID TOO MUCH RELAXING OF HAIR
Too much relaxing of hair can damage your hair and scalp and can even cause hair loss. It can make your hair weak, brittle and prone to breakage.
