The Dangers of Jealousy: How It Hinders Success and Growth

This is described as wishing someone harm or failure. Generally, people in my country do this to prevent others from progressing, ultimately bringing shame not only to their parents but also to themselves.

For example, imagine a student who is a bully. They see you as a shining star, the most intelligent in school, and out of jealousy, they attack you mercilessly—both physically and verbally—hurting your feelings. Emotionally, this can be damaging, leading to self-doubt, and in some cases, even failure in exams.

Jealousy is like fire, destroying good deeds just as fire burns wood to ashes. Whatever bullies say about someone often reveals more about themselves than the person they are targeting. That's why I find it more beneficial to rely on God because He alone judges who succeeds and who fails.

These bullies act this way to take advantage of amateurs—those who are still learning—hindering their growth and discouraging them. Their actions stem from fear, fearing that someone else is about to progress or is already on the path to success.

The moral lesson is to be happy for others, even if you haven’t yet achieved success yourself. A time will come when you, too, will accomplish great things—perhaps even more than the person you once envied.
