When my only daughter was still little, there was a day when there were just the two of us at home as her mom was out of the house together with the house helper. I was then in bed due to fever, when I found out that I ran out of medicine for such sickness. My daughter being the top pupil in her kindergarten class in Montessori Quezon City Philippines, I asked her to buy at least three (3) tablets of such over-the-counter med for me at the nearby drugstore.
So she asked me, “What is the name of the medicine Papa?”. As I was very sleepy, I told her to just copy the most visible word or words written in the used / empty packaging of the medicine tablet and take a 100 PHP Bill in my wallet. In less than an hour, my daughter came back to me very sad and somewhat confused as she was unsuccessful to buy my medicine in spite of her showing the pharmacist the “post-it” paper where she wrote the name of the medicine. After my daughter gave me the name of the pharmacist as written on the pharmacist’s name tag pinned on her uniform, I phoned the drugstore and was able to connect with the pharmacist. So I asked the pharmacist, “What is wrong with you lady pharmacist? Why you refused my daughter to buy the over-the-counter medicine?
The voice on the other side of the phone said. “I am sorry Sir, but we could not sell medicine with incomplete information as to the specific generic or brand name of what your daughter is intending to buy!”. I asked my daughter to show me her codigo of the medicine. So she did as was told.I cannot say anything more when I read it, she has perfectly written what she has previously copied,…“Tamper Resistant”!
