Life and Limes: Breast Cancer Awareness

BREAST CANCER

Breast cancer begins when healthy cells in the breast change and grow out of control, forming a mass or sheet of cells called a tumour.

Breast tissue feels lumpy and sponge-like, so it can be hard to know if what you're feeling is an actual lump or normal breast tissue.

Breast Cancer grows as a result of mutations(Changes) in the gene or damage to one's DNA. In simpler term, breast cancer occurs when there's a change in the breast cells, the cells grow uncontrollably, and then creates a mass of tissue.

Breast cancer can grow and travel to other parts of one's body to form new tumours.
