For many, dropping out of school means the end of life. But this is not the same with Michael Mawanda, a 24-year-old Ugandan citizen who stays in Bugujju village in Mukono district.

Michael drooped out of school while he was in primary six due to the death of his parents which eventually led to lack of money for school fees.

He then thought about what to do and failed and stayed home for a year. A friend close to Michael’ parents who was working in 7 star, a cleaning company decided to help him. “my parents ’friend referred me to 7-star cleaning company’.” he said.

Michael went to the offices of the company and was registered as a compound cleaner but specializing in slashing using machines and designing compounds. He was trained for six months and after started doing work.

Michael says that he used to work in about 5 different places each day due to his speed and techniques in operating the machines and skill in flower designing.

After 2 years working with the company, he had accumulated some good money and decided to start working on his own. He bought various compound slashing machines and employed 3 people.
