Sore throat

Streptococcus pyogenes, or group A streptococcus, causes strep throat, which is a sore throat caused by bacteria.

The word "sore throat" refers to any ailment that causes the throat to feel scratchy, tender, and possibly painful. However, strep throat is a sort of sore throat caused by a specific bacteria.

These germs are very contagious and can be disseminated through respiratory droplets produced by sneezing, coughing, or talking.

People can potentially get strep throat by touching doorknobs, kitchen utensils, or bathroom things that have previously been touched by someone with strep throat and then touching their mouth or nose.

The majority of the time, strep throat is not dangerous, and a person's symptoms will disappear within 1–3 days of starting an antibiotic treatment.

The following are symptoms of strep throat, which are similar to those of a sore throat:

Tonsils that are uncomfortable and sometimes enlarged, often with white spots, pain in the throat that comes on rapidly trouble when swallowing

At home, you can assist yourself heal by doing the following:

taking over-the-counter (OTC) drugs such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen to aid with pain, swelling, and fever gargling with mildly salted warm water or mouthwash to reduce swelling and lessen pain.

strep throat infection might lead to complications. If the bacteria spreads to other parts of the body, this can happen. Complications can include the following:

Abscesses (pus-filled pockets) around the tonsils or in the neck are common.

Neck lymph nodes that are swollen

Infections of the sinuses

Infections of the ears

Rheumatic fever is a type of rheumatic illness that (a heart disease)
