The Lost Device
The sun was rising when Alex saw Maya, Ken, and Tobi running toward him fast.
Maya said, “Alex, someone stole the power device from the lab last night.”
Alex asked, “Who took it? That device can damage the whole city if activated.”
Ken said, “A man in a black coat escaped before we could stop him today.”
Tobi pointed at the street. “Look there. I think he is still close to us now.”
Alex said, “Let us move fast before he hides inside the city again.”
Maya held a tracker. “This shows he is near the old train station right now.”
They all ran toward the station as cars passed around them in the busy street.
The First Encounter
When they reached the station, they met Zara and Malik who were guarding the area.
Zara said, “We saw a man run inside the broken hall with something in his hand.”
Malik added, “He is fast and strong. We must move together or we lose him again.”
Alex said, “Everyone follow me. We stop him before he powers the device today.”
Inside the hall, they heard steps moving fast across the empty floor behind them.
Tobi whispered, “He is close. I can feel him near these old metal doors now.”
Suddenly the man jumped out and said, “Stay back. This device is mine forever.”
Maya shouted, “Give it back. You do not know the danger you are causing now."
The Fight in the Hall
The man ran deeper into the hall and pushed old chairs to slow them down.
Ken jumped over one chair and said, “Stop running. You cannot escape from us today.”
Malik chased him and said, “We only want the device. You can walk away safe.”
The man shouted, “No. I want its power. Nobody will stop me this time now.”
Zara threw a rope to Maya. “Use this. We can trap him before he reaches outside.”
They cornered him near a broken wall where sunlight entered through the cracks slowly.
Alex said, “Please listen. That device can harm many people if you activate it now.”
The man tried to jump, but Maya caught his arm and pulled him back fast.
The Truth Revealed
The man fell down and dropped the device, and Alex picked it up quickly.
Tobi asked, “Why did you steal this? What are you trying to do with it?”
The man said, “My brother is sick. I thought this device could help him live.”
Zara said, “This device cannot heal anyone. It only controls high energy sources.”
Malik walked close. “If it breaks, the whole city loses power for many hours.”
Ken said, “We can help your brother the right way. You do not need this now.”
The man lowered his head. “I am sorry. I did not know what it truly does.”
Alex said, “Come with us. We will take you to people who can help today.”
The City Saved
They left the hall and walked outside into the bright open street together.
Maya said, “We must return this device to the lab before anyone notices it missing.”
Tobi smiled. “At least we stopped a big problem before it got worse for everyone.”
Zara said, “This day was hard, but we worked well as one team from start.”
Malik said, “Yes. Our city is safe again because we did not give up today.”
The man said, “Thank you all. I will never make this mistake again in my life.”
Alex said, “Let us go home. We need rest after this long and busy chase.”
They all walked together as the city lights brightened slowly above every building.
