Chinedu had finally made it! After years of hustling in the village, he moved to Lagos, the land of opportunities, jollof rice, and heavy traffic. He was determined to become a full-fledged city boy—no more village behavior!

One Saturday, he got invited to a big party on the Island. He dressed up in his finest clothes, borrowed his friend’s designer shoes, and sprayed extra perfume. “Nobody must know I just arrived from the village,” he told himself.

At the party, Chinedu was feeling like Davido. He greeted people with swag, “How far, my gee?” even though he didn’t know what it meant. Then came the highlight—the buffet!

As a village man, Chinedu had never seen so much free food in his life. Different types of rice, assorted meats, small chops, and a chocolate fountain! His eyes shined.

“Na today I go chop my destiny!”

He grabbed a plate and started serving himself. Jollof rice, check. Fried rice, check. Moi moi, check. He packed so much that the plate became a mountain. Even the servers started whispering, “Is this boy okay?”

Finally, he got to the meat section. Chinedu’s hands were shaking with excitement. He took three chicken laps, two goat meats, and one big turkey. But as he was about to leave, disaster struck!

One of his village uncles, Uncle Okonkwo, who had been in Lagos for 20 years, suddenly appeared. “Chinedu! Na you be this?!”

Chinedu froze. His spirit left his body. He knew his cover was blown.

Before he could escape, Uncle Okonkwo grabbed the microphone from the DJ.

“Ladies and gentlemen, make una see my nephew o! He just come from village last week but see as he carry food like person wey wan open restaurant!”

The whole party erupted in laughter! Some people even started clapping.

Chinedu wanted to disappear. His legs became weak, and before he knew it, he tripped over his designer shoe and fell—right into his own mountain of food!

Jollof rice covered his face, turkey landed on his head, and his designer shoe flew across the hall.

The party stopped. People were laughing, recording, and snapping pictures. Someone even shouted, “Village people don win again!”

From that day, Chinedu learned an important lesson—in Lagos, collect small food first. You can always go back for more!
