Which idiom you must Learn first?

The concept of language learning always refers back to the question: "how long will it take me to learn a language?

First we must always consider the question of need: why learn a new language? What inputs will this new language bring to you?

First, a language is an essential tool for anyone who wants to grow professionally, socially and culturally.

Second, a language brings with it many factors that influence, for the most part, the molding of human character.

However, acquiring skills in a certain language requires discipline, focus and determination.

For those who intend to enter the job market, in international relations, diplomacy, etc, it will be necessary to master at least two languages.

And in this professional aspect where the question of necessity is inserted. "I want to learn English and French, because it will be useful in the development of my work activities. But learning these languages will not only give you language skills. To learn a new language is to experience new habits, new traditions, new challenges and perspectives.

So, which language is right for me?

English is one of the most important languages worldwide for those who want to work abroad, for those who want to study abroad and beyond. On the other hand, French is a rich language in terms of literature and a so-called "diplomatic" language. Mandarin, on the other hand, is one of the most used languages worldwide, all for demographic reasons. It is known that China is the most populous country in the world, which is why Mandarin occupies the 1st position in the ranking. And it is a language that is also gaining followers as a result of China's technological expansion and economic position.

Spanish is also a language with a huge number of speakers, as it is one of the few that can be found on almost every continent. We have 100% speakers of the language throughout South and Central America. And given the geographical position of these countries on the American continent, many of these speakers emigrate to their northern neighbor, namely the United States of America, where many of them seek new opportunities and other living conditions. This migratory event , positively influences the growth of the Spanish language in the country. In Europe, Spanish is the official language of Spain and is also spoken in some regions of neighboring countries. On the African continent, Spanish is only spoken in one country, Equatorial Guinea.

Like Mandarin, Russian is also widely spoken throughout most of northern Europe, in most of the countries that made up the former Soviet Union, and it is also widespread in part of China.

So which language to choose?

I will start by sharing my own experience.

I started with English for one simple reason.  English is one of the most important languages at the professional level and is considered an asset for those who want to enter the job market. And for students, almost every book in the world has been translated into English. Even those old books in other languages that may be difficult to translate. And anywhere in the world, in a medium of 5 people, 2 can have a command of English. I have had contact with other languages, but I have found mastering the English language to be of utmost importance. I consider it the language of commerce.

Secondly, the French language. Being a rich language on a literary level, it is also important in both the diplomatic and commercial fields. I have always wanted to know France, even before I learned to speak English. Almost 60% of African countries are French-speaking.

With these two languages, it would be enough for those who intend to work in various segments of society, either at home or abroad. The other languages would be more of a complement. And not forgetting what I said before, learn a language taking into account your needs. Why should I learn a new language?

There must always be a reason why we engage in a new journey. It is this reason that will serve as the driving force, the motivation to continue.

Finally, what are the best ways to learn a language?

1- Enroll in a course: Yes, it is possible to learn a language by studying it, either at university or in a course.

2- Study alone: It may sound like a lie. But it is possible to learn a language by studying alone. It all depends on what methods and means are implemented. As I mentioned before, all learning requires discipline and focus.

- Watch series, movies, and listen to music

- Read books, newspapers, etc.

3 - Speak : This is one of the biggest secrets to learning a language. In the process of learning a language, it is very important that you practice, because only then will you be able to master the language. With this method, not only will it be possible to assess your flaws, but also to learn from them.

Finally, having the opportunity to master two or more languages can be a challenge that can bring you countless opportunities at a professional level and allow you to expand your knowledge in general.
