Are our children becoming antisocial?

If you have noticed, young people are becoming withdrawn from the normal societal life. This is as a result of the alternative way of interaction - the digital way.

The use of electronics and digital gadgets have made our young generation to draw closer to themselves rather than others. Use of social media is making our youths to forgo socialization the traditional way.

They would spend most of their time in the social media. Some go to the extent of locking themselves in their rooms and start the chat. It is good to interact online but the social prevalence of those they chat with might totally be different hence disintegrating their immediate cultural aspects.

This disintegration would make these young people feel different from others in their immediate surround. They then ditach themselves from people within as they try to copy the online families. Take a look at youths around you.

Their concentration is always poor on people around them. Every moment they would deep themselves into their smart phones. You could see them change expressionally as they chat but lack interest on what surrounds them.

Something causing this antisocial life is the modern way of living. People are building or buying gated homes in towns and cities hence limiting visits from the familiar members of their communities.

Individualism characterized by "mind your business" has reduced interaction where they can't even know their neighbours leave alone visiting them.

The result?? You can see them around you.
