The love she cannot see

In the quiet corners of her heart, She dances on the edge of his regard. A love concealed beneath a mask so fair, Yet shadows whisper, ‘Does he truly care?' 

He stands aloof with a practiced ease, Jealous flames hidden, a silent breeze. His eyes betray a fleeting, green-eyed stare, But his words are cool, as if unaware.

She yearns for a hint, a sign, a glance, A clue to break through his stoic trance. Yet every time she seeks to find his light, She’s met with shadows, lost in night.

The pain of doubt becomes her constant friend, A maze of feelings with no end. She questions love that seems so rare, Bound by a silence she cannot bear.

Oh, if he’d show the jealousy inside, His heart laid bare, with nothing to hide. But pride’s armor keeps his fears in place, Leaving her adrift, in a love’s embrace.

And so she wonders....
