The young vs the society

In our traditional society, children belonged to the community and any member of the community can administer discipline against unwanted behaviour among children. This ensured high moral standard characterized by good traits seen among people.

However, things have changed with the world. Children no longer belong to everybody. They no longer have the benefits of learning and getting corrected by the community. This has raised the immoral behaviour to the apex.

Children no longer show respect to adults. They can exchange and abuse anyone. Today this young generation can push you aside to let them pass. They can tell you of without mincing their words. They can't allow you to stop them from doing anything wrong. They can engage in immorality in the open without care. But the problem isn't these young people. It is their parents.

Today a parent will not let you say anything about their children. They will tell you off if you try to report a vice you might have noticed from their children. Punishing someone's child can land you to court. This is extended to schools. Teachers are no longer the custodian of discipline. Caning a child can make a teacher lose hi/her job. It has become a slogan of teach and go home.

The society has given up and this is making nations plunge into wars and crimes.

We need to get back our norms.
