Chapter Seven: Doom or Deliverance
Alaric blasted a path through the hordes as Gavin and Nathan raced in his wake. All around, the tide of war ebbed and flowed - yet at the center, titanic forces clashed in primal fury.
The shining giant drove back its abyssal foe with sword and spear, yet with every blow the Nameless Lord's power waxed darker. Its baleful gaze fell upon the charging champions.
"You shall not pass!" Alaric cried, hurling bolts of azure wrath. But choking shadows swirled in reply, engulfing knight and squire. Through the murk Gavin's cries faded, and Nathan stumbled blind...
Alone amid that darkness, hope seemed lost. Then a glint caught his eye - his faithful blade, fallen from Gavin's hand. Inspired, Nathan grasped the hilt just as an unseen talon slashed for him. Parrying with a blistering ring, he began to fight his way free.
Steadily the shadows parted before him, until armor broke the pall once more. But where were his allies? Across the churned fields, only two Titans remained standing opposed.
With a roar the Nameless Lord caught the shining giant in an embrace of impenetrable night. Its armored form began to warp and dissolve within.
Despair gripped Nathan's heart at the sight before him. All seemed lost as the Nameless Lord bore down upon the shining champion.
Yet even in that moment of blackest fate, a glimmer sparked within the giant's breaking form. Steel flashed - and with a sudden burst of radiance, the Nameless Lord was thrown back, howling its rage and deathless torment to the skies.
Where the giant had stood now hovered an orb of breaking dawn, raying hope against the shadows. As Nathan gazed upon it in awe, a voice whispered on the wind: "The light within you is stronger than any darkness. Go now, and let its power guide your sword!"
Revitalized, Nathan rallied Eldoria's wavering forces with a cry. Across the field, Gavin emerged from the gloom with a roar, taking up his fallen blade. Knight and squire stood shoulder to shield with their brethren, an unbreakable wall of steel and will against the night.
Howling its blasphemies, the Nameless Lord surged forth to crush them utterly. But as its fell armor closed upon the orb, from within issued a blinding flash. The dark titan was no more - only dispersing shadows beneath the light of a new day dawning.
As Eldoria's horns rent the skies in victory, the orb hung suspended, bathing crimson fields in radiance reborn. Victory was theirs - and a new age of hope had begun for the Golden Kingdom, led ever onward by the light within their hearts.
